The Carolina Panthers have been one of the NFL's more active teams throughout the first two weeks of free agency. General manager Dan Morgan hasn't wasted any time rounding out the roster, adding free agents like defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton and safety Trevon Moehrig, while also retaining names like wide receiver David Moore.

Having said that, the NFL offseason isn't only about new arrivals and re-signings; it's about departures, too. On Wednesday, one of the Panthers' available free agents decided to join one of the franchise's NFC South rivals.

Panthers News: Falcons Sign S Jordan Fuller in Free Agency

NFL insider Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Atlanta Falcons are signing free-agent safety Jordan Fuller. The veteran defensive back played the 2024 campaign with the Panthers after spending the four previous seasons with the Los Angeles Rams.

Although it can be sad seeing a familiar face leave, Panthers fans won't be too bothered by Fuller's exit. In fact, his signing with Atlanta might actually be a bad thing for Carolina's NFC South rival.

The Panthers reunited Fuller with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero — who coached the veteran safety for two seasons on the Rams — with the hope that he could become a key part of the secondary. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury limited the former Ohio State Buckeye to nine appearances, resulting in only 28 solo tackles, one forced fumble, and a broken-up pass.

The disappointing campaign also saw Fuller record career-worst Pro Football Focus grades regarding run stoppage (68.5), coverage (47.0), and overall defense (53.8).

While Fuller is a great human being off the field and often lends a hand toward charitable causes, his on-field play won't be missed in Charlotte. Instead, Panthers fans will be looking forward to watching their offensive playmakers burn the Falcons' latest signing twice during the 2025 season.
