After finishing the 2024 season on a high note with a Week 18 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers fans were excited to see what the team could do in free agency and the NFL draft.
The Panthers were viewed as one of the teams who could make a splash for a veteran wideout in free agency or the trade market. However, that hasn’t come to fruition yet, as Carolina tries to add more playmakers around former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young.
That said, Carolina decided to re-sign one of their veteran pass catchers, who helped Young in his second half surge last season. On Tuesday, the Panthers announced that they re-signed vet wide receiver David Moore.

The team agreed to a one-year deal with the 30-year-old receiver. Last year, Moore signed a one-year contract with the Panthers after spending the 2023 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Last season with the Panthers, Moore saw his snaps go up after Week 7, which was around the same time Carolina traded veteran Diontae Johnson. Through the first seven games, Moore had five receptions (nine targets) for 44 yards. He also played 22.1 percent of offensive and 20.4 percent of special teams snaps.
However, in the Panthers’ last 10 games, Moore racked up 27 receptions (48 targets) for 307 yards and three touchdowns. As highlighted earlier his snaps went up, playing 77.4 percent on offense and only 4.5 percent on special teams.
Moore finished his first season in Carolina with a yards per reception average of 11, which isn’t bad considering his usage earlier in the year.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales will be depending on the veteran to continue to help the young wide receivers and Young in 2025. He’s not the flashiest name, but he’s another good depth piece for Carolina.
