Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs FSU Seminoles Preview
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have played for two weeks now without starting quarterback John Wolford. He could be back on the field for Wake tomorrow against the Florida State Seminoles. Or maybe he won’t be. The Deacs are keeping that play in their back pocket, possibly to keep the Seminoles guessing and possibly because they just do not know. If he cannot go then we see a third week of Kendall Hinton behind the center and a simplified Demon Deacons game plan.

One factor that might help the Deacs would be for that rain that is supposed to hit elsewhere on Tobacco Road to hit Winston-Salem. That might slow down the Florida State pass rush.

X – Encourage Turnovers
The Wake defense has been sharp against the pass. Florida State quarterback Everett Golson has been prone to throw interceptions at times. Wake needs to find a way for those two things to meet tomorrow. If Golson throws picks, that might give Wake the extra chances it needs to keep pace in this game.

Y – Avoid the rush
The Florida State offense may be rebuilding a bit this year, but the Seminoles defensive line remains very tough. One advantage to Hinton playing over Wolford would be having a little extra speed and elusiveness to get away from guys. The Wake line has given up too many sacks so far this season, and it is a safe bet that the Seminoles will add to the totals. Hope Cam Serigne is open somewhere.
Z – Don’t Go Three and Out
The Wake Forest offense has not shown great ability to run down teams that are outscore them. Therefore they will need to keep the FSU offense off the field as much as possible. This means finding some way to hold the ball against the Seminole defense.
Prediction: 35-3 Florida State
