After a 7-1 start to the season, Wake Forest will appear in the first College Football Playoff Ranking of the season. Here’s how to watch.

It’s finally here. After 10 weeks of college football, fans will be treated to the first set of College Football Playoff Rankings on Tuesday night. In total, the College Football Selection Committee releases six sets, with the final rankings being announced on December 8th.

While most North Carolina teams will sit out the rankings show (R.I.P Appalachian State), fans of the Demon Deacons should be quite pleased to see Wake Forest crack the rankings. Wake Forest has never finished in the Top 25 of the College Football Playoff Rankings but this year’s Wake Forest squad is a prime candidate to break that trend.

Led by star quarterback Jamie Newman, the Demon Deacons sit at 7-1 (3-1 ACC) and 22nd in the AP Poll. Wake Forest lacks a true marquee victory, which will make its matchup with Clemson on November 16th a massive game that could decide the ACC Atlantic and each team’s postseason fate.

Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, Oregon Oklahoma, and Utah remain the most likely contenders for the College Football Playoff. Teams like Baylor, Minnesota, and Wake Forest remain dark horses well on the outside right now.
