If the story of Week 4 Power Rankings was the close loss of Duke to Northwestern, then the story for Week 5 is the Blue Devils’ win against Georgia Tech. That win changed the game in the Coastal Division for now and will make the eventual Coastal champion have to come through Durham. Duke does not have to play favorites in this week’s North Carolina-Georgia Tech matchup, either result is workable. A Yellow Jacket victory would both UNC and GT behind Duke in the loss column.

More from North Carolina State Wolfpack

As important as that win was, it did not change the team at the top of the power rankings this week. NC State is unbeaten and still at the top. That could change against Louisville on Saturday, but for one more week it is the Wolfpack.

The State went 5-2 on the week with two more wins against Virginia to headline things.
