The wide receivers and tight ends for the Panthers look like a positional group that could finally be what Cam Newton needed. Kelvin Benjamin is in prime shape and the large wide receiver should take a leap this year coming up. The Panthers drafted a wide receiver named Devin Funchess who is also very large and could easily cause defenses trouble.
Greg Olsen, the Panther’s tight end, is one of the best tight ends in the NFL right now. He creates a lot of match up nightmares for opposing defenses and was a pro bowler last season. I expect Olsen to continue lighting defenses up this next season. Greg Olsen at tight end along with Benjamin and Funchess gives the Panthers tremendous size. Add a speedy Ted Ginn Jr or a Corey Brown on the outside as speed options and that becomes even harder to guard. I expect to see this positional group have a break out year and I think Funchess is someone that a lot of experts are sleeping on. My grade for this position is a B.
