Well in the off season the Panthers got rid of DeAngelo Williams and replaced him by drafting Cameron Artis-Payne who will fill the back up spot on the depth chart. Of course barring another injury it will more than likely be Jonathan Stewart with the first start of the season at running back. Stewart did lead the league in rushing yards the last few weeks of last season. In a way Artis-Payne and Stewart are very similar in their style of play. Stewart is a little more of a bruiser and Artis-Payne lacks experience at the NFL level. Artis-Payne is a steal in the draft where he was drafted because nobody leads the SEC in rushing yards without being a good player (at least the last decade).

When looking at fullback it is clear Mike Tolbert is one of the best at that position in the NFL and that is only going to help the Panthers. Artis-Payne, Stewart, and Tolbert are a solid core at running back and full back. I give the position a B-.
