With USC quarterback Caleb Williams likely being drafted with the No. 1 overall pick by the Chicago Bears, all eyes are on LSU QB Jayden Daniels and North Carolina QB Drake Maye.

Both quarterbacks will be drafted within the top 5 of the 2024 NFL Draft, but it’s unclear where Daniels and Maye will go. Dating back to last year, Maye was perceived as the second-best QB in this year’s draft, but Daniels had a terrific final season at LSU and won the Heisman Trophy.

Some draft analysts believe Maye could be selected by the Washington Commanders at No. 2 overall or No. 3 overall by the New England Patriots. However, there’s a mystery team that could shake up the draft and take the former UNC quarterback.

2024 NFL Draft Rumors: Minnesota Vikings Could Trade up for Drake Maye

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on Friday’s SportsCenter that some teams believe the Minnesota Vikings could try to trade up to draft Maye, per Zach Bachar of Bleacher Report.

However, Fowler adds, “It would take a lot, but they are armed with two first-round picks to try to make it happen.”

The Vikings saw Kirk Cousins leave in free agency earlier this month after signing a massive four-year, $180 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Minnesota signed veteran quarterback Sam Darnold to a one-year deal worth $10 million to replace Cousins.

However, the Vikings have two first-round picks to make a move up the draft board. However, if the Commanders and Patriots like Daniels or Maye, it will be tough for Minnesota to move up unless they add something else of significance with those first-round picks.

Maye is coming off a solid final season at the University of North Carolina, where he completed 63.3 percent of his 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also produced 449 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground.
