The ACC final is here and it is a matchup no one saw coming before the tourney started. After pulling off another preposterous win, the NC State Wolfpack have made it all the way to the final to take on their in-state rivals, North Carolina.
Despite being down six with less than a minute to go against Virginia in the semifinals, NC State pulled off an improbable comeback, capping it off with a game-tying three by Michael O'Connell at the buzzer.
Their reward of winning four games in four nights: playing the best team in the conference.

North Carolina has looked as dominant as they have been all season during the tournament. Besides the two-week stretch between the Georgia Tech and Syracuse games, the Tar Heels haven't lost a game to an ACC opponent.
R.J. Davis has carried his scoring form into the tournament, averaging 21.5 points per game in two postseason appearances. Armando Bacot registered two back-to-back double-doubles, dominating the paint against both Pittsburgh and Florida State. North Carolina will continue to rely on their two seniors to help them win their first ACC Tournament championship since 2016.
The Tar Heels are favored by 8.5 against the Wolfpack. They should win but 8.5 is too large of a margin for any final. Considering that NC State has been playing much better defense after changing up the rotations and moving D.J. Horne to the bench, this should be a lower-scoring affair, similar to the semifinal matchups for both teams.
