The North Carolina Tar Heels only had one player selected in the 2024 NBA Draft – Harrison Ingram, who was selected with the 48th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs last week.

Tar Heel fans were hoping to hear Armando Bacot and Cormac Ryan's names called during the draft too, but it wasn’t meant to be. Nonetheless, Bacot and Ryan will get a chance to play in the NBA Summer League this month.

Last week, Tony Jones of The Athletic reported that Bacot was signed to an Exhibit 10 deal with the Utah Jazz. The 6-foot-10 forward coincidentally will play alongside former Duke star Kyle Filipowski, which will make for interesting TV, given the rivalry between the two historic programs.

UNC Great Armando Bacot Signs Exhibit 10 Contract With Utah Jazz

If you aren’t familiar with an Exhibit 10 deal, it’s a one-year, minimum-salary contract that could be converted into a two-way deal before the regular season begins. Most players join the team for training camp before being sent down to their respective NBA G League affiliate.

Bacot will look to make a strong impression in the summer league, to grab a two-way deal with the Jazz or another team. The 6-foot-10 forward is coming off an impressive final year at UNC, averaging 14.5 points and 10.3 rebounds in 30.4 minutes per game.

The Richmond, Virginia native averaged a double-double over his last three years at UNC. The four-time All-ACC forward had a decorated collegiate career with the Tar Heels that no one will forget. Now, he has the tough task of trying to stick in the NBA. But as we saw in college, Bacot has the skillset to be a productive player in the pros.
