Even though it didn't end with an ACC Tournament win or a NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance, North Carolina had a successful 2023-24 campaign in Hubert Davis' third season as the head coach.

As the Tar Heels will try to build on that next season, they will have to make plenty of changes to the rotation. Starters Armando Bacot and Cormac Ryan are out of eligibility. Harrison Ingram and RJ Davis might leave for the NBA or the pro route. Bench pieces James Okonkwo and Seth Trimble have reportedly entered the transfer portal.

UNC is getting two five-star recruits Drake Powell and Ian Jackson for their perimeter rotation next season but they still have more needs to address. Fortunately, they have plenty of options through the transfer portal to add some much-needed talent to this team. Let's take a look.

1. Cade Tyson, SG/SF, Belmont

One of the primary needs for North Carolina for next season is more three-point shooting. There is nobody better in the transfer portal for that than Cade Tyson from Belmont.

Reportedly, North Carolina already contracted the sharpshooter, alongside Duke, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The Tar Heels will have plenty of competition but they should do everything in their power to land the 6'7 wing.

Tyson had the second-highest three-point shooting percentage in the country last season, hitting 46.5% of his threes on 5.5 attempts per game. He averaged 16.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game for Belmont. Addition of an elite shooter like him will make things easier for everyone else, especially the incoming freshmen.
