The Carolina Panthers sit with a 3-10 record after suffering a heartbreaking 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles after entering the game as massive 13.5-point underdogs.

Carolina has strung along a three-game losing streak, but each loss has been by one possession. The losses have come against the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the aforementioned Eagles.

While they haven't come out with the victory, they are playing hungry each Sunday. The Panthers had a chance to upset Philadelphia on Sunday, but receiver Xavier Legette made the same frustrating mistake and broke his promise to Bryce Young in the process.

Panthers News: Xavier Legette Dropped Go-Ahead TD Pass

With 48 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Young delivered a dart to Legette but he dropped the potential go-ahead touchdown pass.

This was the rookie receiver's second pivotal drop late in the game this season. In Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the South Carolina product also dropped a perfectly placed pass from Young down the left sideline.

In that game, the drop also came late in the fourth quarter and could help put the Panthers in tremendous scoring position.

Following the loss to the Chiefs, Legette reached out to Young and apologized for the drop. He added that it wouldn't happen again but unfortunately for him and the Panthers, it did.

Since stepping back on the field in Week 8 as the starter, Young has been playing outstanding football. He's gone 121 for 203 for 1,273 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions.

He needs his teammates to also step up their performances but that hasn't been the case for Legette when the team needs him most. He was credited with three total drops in the Philly game, including two of the final drive.

Those mistakes can't happen and have become a trend for the young playmaker. Young is doing his job of getting the football to Legette, but now the 23-year-old needs to do his part and finish the job.

He already apologized to Young once already. Now, he can't make it a habit.
