Panthers Vet Has Amazing Reaction to Last-Minute Pro Bowl Selection
The 2025 Pro Bowl is set to go down in Orlando, FL on Sunday, and Carolina Panthers fans have a couple of reasons to tune into the action.
After cornerback Jaycee Horn was named to his first Pro Bowl earlier this month, the Panthers announced on Monday that offensive guard Robert Hunt will also be making his way to Orlando. The veteran blocker will be replacing Philadelphia Eagles OG Landon Dickerson, who is focused on preparing for a Super Bowl LIX encounter with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Shortly after the announcement, Hunt shared just how excited he is to be a first-time Pro Bowler.
Panthers News: Robert Hunt Reacts to Pro Bowl Announcement
After being added to the Pro Bowl, Hunt took to X to reveal it's been a lifelong dream to crack a Pro Bowl roster.
"WOW!!! As a kid, I used to only hope one day I can be in (the Pro Bowl)," Hunt wrote. "God, thank you. One down!"
The monumental honor is well-deserved for Hunt, who was named as a Pro Bowl alternate earlier this month. Panthers teammates Chubba Hubbard and Johnny Hekker were also announced as backup options.
A former Miami Dolphins 2020 second-round pick, Hunt made his way to Raleigh on a five-year, $100 million contract last offseason. It didn't take the former Lousiana guard long to become a Carolina fan favorite as his reliable blocking played a huge role in the team's offensive improvements.
Starting in all 17 games, Hunt proved why he's worth $20 million annually, playing to a 72.0 run block grade on Pro Football Focus — 18th-best among 73 eligible guards. His offense (67.7) and pass blocking (57.5) grades were down compared to last year (76.4 and 74.4, respectively), however, it wouldn't be shocking if he bounced back next season after working with head coach Dave Canales for another offseason.
Hunt has been a big part of why the Panthers' offense is heading in the right direction, and this week's Pro Bowl appearance is the culmination of his hard work.
The 2025 Pro Bowl will air Sunday on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN+ at 3 p.m. ET.
