The 2024 season might be over for the Carolina Panthers, but one Panthers veteran will get a chance to be around the league’s best players later this week for the Pro Bowl Games.

According to Joe Person of The Athletic, Carolina guard Robert Hunt is going to his first Pro Bowl. He’s replacing Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson. The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC title game on Sunday and will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59.

Hunt will join fellow teammate Jaycee Horn at the 2025 Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, Florida. The veteran offensive lineman was named an alternate for the Pro Bowl earlier this month, along with running back Chuba Hubbard and punter Johnny Hekker.

Hunt played well in his first season with the Panthers. After a tumultuous 2023 season on the offensive line, the Panthers addressed the trenches this past offseason, signing Hunt to a huge five-year, $100 million contract and inking Damien Lewis to a four-year, $53 million deal.

Those two additions greatly improved the Panthers’ offense big time. In 2024, they reduced their sacks allowed from 65 to 36 and helped Hubbard rush for 1,195 yards and 10 scores on the ground.

Hunt was quietly one of the better offensive guards in the league this season as he allowed five sacks and was penalized five times in 966 offensive snaps. The 28-year-old lineman had a 67.7 overall grade on PFF (ranked 37th among 135 qualified guards) and a solid 72 run-blocking grade (ranked 26th out of 135 qualified guards).

Hunt was ranked second on ESPN’s IOL run block win rate rankings (77%), one percentage point behind Denver Broncos lineman Ben Powers (78%).

The last time the Panthers had at least two representatives at the Pro Bowl was in 2021 with Brian Burns and Stephon Gilmore. Last year, Carolina only had one player at the Pro Bowl – Derrick Brown.
