Panthers Get Shocking Miles Sanders Injury Update on Wednesday Morning
The Carolina Panthers are 3-7 on the year and have stung along their first win streak of the season. Last week, they traveled to Munich, Germany, and defeated the New York Giants 20-17.
They are headed into their bye week as they look to rest and recover. In the win over New York, running back Miles Sanders was carted off with an ankle/foot injury and it was considered a serious injury. After multiple tests, the Panthers got some great news about the veteran tailback.
Panthers News: Miles Sanders is Listed as Day-To-Day
According to Ian Rapoport, Sanders visited an expert and is now considered day-to-day. The team wants the swelling to go down and he will miss some time but it's not believed to be long term.
The Penn State product was the No. 2 running back in the backfield behind Chubba Hubbard. This season, Sanders has been disappointing on the field. He's logged 139 rushing yards, 98 receiving yards, and one touchdown. Regardless of his shaky play, having a veteran in the backfield is always beneficial.
The good news for Sanders is that there isn't a game this week. The next time the Panthers take the field will be on Nov. 24 against the Kansas City Chiefs. This gives the 27-year-old more time to recover and hopefully return to the field soon.
Nonetheless, this is a positive development for Sanders. When he was being carted off the field, many fans feared the worst but it appears he dodged a major bullet there.
