The Carolina Panthers are on their way to their seventh straight losing season and seven years out of the playoffs. One of the biggest reasons for their lack of success has long been the leadership.

David Tepper was seen as one of the least patient and most hands-on owners in the league, resulting in inconsistency and chaos. There is a reason Dave Canales is Carolina's seventh head coach since the start of the 2019 season.

According to the latest report, however, the Teppers may have had a change of heart. Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on Saturday that the Panthers' owners have been leaving the football decisions to GM Dan Morgan and head coach Dave Canales. This approach has reportedly earned the praise of league executives.

"The road ahead looks bright in Carolina, and the Teppers have this team on the right track. As one executive shared: 'The Teppers are letting the football people do the football things.'"

Panthers fans know to be cautious about such reports. Carolina has been surprisingly competitive in recent weeks, and Bryce Young has looked much better since taking over the starting job from Andy Dalton. It is easier to be patient when things are looking up and there is improvement.

The expectations are higher from the Panthers right now as they are favored in a game for the first time this season in their Week 15 clash against the Panthers. Will the ownerships' patience last if the Panthers suffer a few disappointing losses to finish out the season? Will the Teppers continue to defer to Morgan and Canales if there are multiple blowouts for the Panthers in the remaining games?

The Panthers had ten different starting quarterbacks over the last seven seasons. Bryce Young seems like he has the job for now, but you never know how long that will last with the Panthers. Let's just hope the change in leadership is here to stay. Some stability could do wonders for this organization.
