The Carolina Panthers are 3-8 on the season after they were handed a loss of 30-27 to the Kansas City Chiefs on a 31-yard field goal as time expired.

Even though the Panthers came out with a loss, there were a lot of positive things to take from the game. Quarterback Bryce Young was one of them and his postgame comments left a positive impression on his teammates.

The Panthers have now turned the page onto Week 13 but on Monday they claimed a former fourth-round pick.

Panthers News: Carolina Claimed Akayleb Evans

According to Ian Rapoport, the Panthers have claimed cornerback Akayleb Evans. He was released by the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday and was quickly scooped up by the Panthers.

Evans was rarely used by the Vikings this season, logging just three snaps. The 25-year-old was a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and has made 17 career starts, including 15 during the 2023 season. Across 32 games, Evans has 90 total tackles, nine pass deflections, four forced fumbles, and one interception.

The Missouri product also plays on special teams and provides Carolina with a lot of value in that area.

Evans will have an opportunity to make an impact on the Panthers and create a path for being on the team in 2025.

There are six games left on the Panthers' schedule, and that gives him enough of a sample size to impress the coaching staff and management. We'll see if he gets a chance to log some snaps at corner or whether he'll be playing the majority of his snaps on special teams.
