Bryce Young Reportedly Made Waves in Panthers Locker Room After Chiefs Loss
Even though the Carolina Panthers' win streak came to an end in Week 12, fans are mostly very happy with how things played out on Sunday. Carolina gave the Kansas City Chiefs a serious run for their money in a contest that could've actually gone the Panthers' way if a few plays produced different results.
Regardless, the biggest delight from this matchup was seeing quarterback Bryce Young truly lead his team in its upset bid. What he did on the field against an elite opponent caught many by surprise, but it turns out his teammates were most impacted by what he said following the loss.
After the game, Young addressed his teammates to reflect on their efforts versus Kansas City. According to ESPN's David Newton, Carolina guard Robert Hunt was "so inspired" by what Young said that he was ready to go another four quarters despite having just gotten off of the field.
Panthers wideout Adam Thielen added that Young expressed "confidence in where we're going" and noted this performance shows the type of competitive team they can be on a weekly basis.
Young's words having this kind of impact on his teammates is something not to be ignored. After all, this is the same quarterback who was previously benched for holding Carolina back; it'd be no surprise if some of his counterparts had already given up on the former top pick.
Yet, these reactions show the belief in Young is sky-high now that he's playing good football again. That kind of buy-in from the locker room is invaluable to both competing on a game-by-game basis, but also for the Panthers' long-term future as they consider committing to building around Young.
Now it's on Young to fully prove he's the guy for this team in 2025 by finishing strong down the stretch. He'll face division rivals in three of his remaining six contests, providing a fantastic opportunity for the young QB to show what he can do against familiar opponents with renewed confidence.
