Jonathan Mingo Admits Harsh Truth About Cowboys Trade
The Carolina Panthers are 2-7 as the NFL enters Week 10 of the schedule. Last week, they secured a thrilling 23-22 win over the New Orleans Saints.
They continued the positive energy as they shipped second-year receiver Jonathan Mingo to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick.
While the trade was celebrated among Panther fans, it caught Mingo by surprise, and he expressed this via Dallas' official team website.
Panthers News: Jonathan Mingo Shocked by Trade to Dallas Cowboys
Mingo revealed that he was waiting on a food delivery when he got the call from GM Dan Morgan that he was dealt to the Dallas Cowboys. That news itself caught him off guard.
"It kind of blindsided me, because my agent told me he didn’t think anything was going to happen, slim chance. So that slim chance happened. I’m happy to be a Cowboy, fresh start for me, new beginnings, God put me here for a reason."

Mingo also acknowledged he could have done some things better with the Panthers but didn't expect the team to move on from him at this point.
The Panthers took Mingo with the 39th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft but he failed to make a consistent impact. The Ole Miss product recorded 55 receptions for 539 yards and zero touchdowns in 24 career games. The fact that the Panthers got a fourth-round pick for Mingo is remarkable.
The Cowboys have been intrigued with Mingo since his college days, and now he gets a chance to revive his career in the Lone Star State.
