The Carolina Panthers have missed the playoffs for the seventh straight year. Heading into Week 16, the Panthers are 3-11 and have a contest against the Arizona Cardinals next on the slate.

They have dropped four straight games, including a 30-14 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys. In the loss, quarterback Bryce Young struggled immensely. He recorded a career-high four turnovers, but head coach Dave Canales revealed that Young will finish the season as the starter.

Panthers News: Bryce Young Will Finish 2024 Season as Starter

When speaking to team reporters on Friday, Canales said he was impressed with how Young carried himself during last week's game against the Cowboys. Despite committing multiple turnovers, Young was still engaged and constantly chatting with his teammates to find some resolutions.

In the loss to Dallas, Young went 19-of-28 for 219 yards with two interceptions. He also lost two fumbles and was sacked six times.

Earlier this season, Young was benched for five games in favor of Andy Dalton. He eventually was thrust back into the lineup in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos. Young hasn't looked back since. The time on the bench helped the 23-year-old, as he became more focused and poised.

Over the last seven games, Young has thrown for 1,492 yards, eight passing touchdowns, and six interceptions.

The 2023 No. 1 overall pick hasn't played the best over the last two seasons, but his surroundings have played a role in that.

In addition to Young showing consistent improvement, the Panthers only have Dalton as the other quarterback on the team. And he's 37 years old. What's the benefit of throwing him out there instead of a young signal caller who has a future with the team?

Young has shown terrific maturity and growth over the last two years. And he'll get the chance to finish out the season strong.
