Tight End

This is another position where depth is a concern, especially with the news Chris Manhertz had to recently have surgery on his foot from an injury in minicamp. Prior to last year, depth was never really a concern as Greg Olsen was one of the most durable players in the league and didn’t miss a game since his rookie season.

That injury should be fresh in the mind of the Carolina Panthers and they need to have a contingency plan in place if Olsen was forced to miss anymore time.

While there are players like Antonio Gates and Julius Thomas still available, the one player that makes the most sense would be Brent Celek. The 11-year veteran has spent his entire career with the Philadelphia Eages and would give the team a veteran option alongside rookie Ian Thomas at the position.

However, according to Les Bowen, he isn’t rushing back to the NFL and the Panthers may need to sell Celek on joining the Panthers.

The Carolina Panthers roster is pretty well set at this point but if the front office can address one or two of these positions, the roster will be much stronger in 2018.
