Florida State Seminoles

Tuesday – 6 PM

The inclusion of the Seminoles does not seem realistic to me. This seems like the product of a legacy dad trying to do right by his former school and at least giving them a chance. Harrison Barnes once did something similar when his final decision came down to Carolina, Duke, and the hometown Iowa State Cyclones.

More from Duke Blue Devils

Still, Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles have something to offer Knox that no one else does. He could play closer to Tampa than any of the other options. More importantly he could reach something approximating deification if he has real success with the Seminoles.

He would be the whole game for them. They would focus on playing their traditional tough defense, but then it would be all Knox’s show on the other end. The fans would love him to death in a way they would not at Duke, Carolina, or Kentucky, where they have seen this all before. FSU would allow him to get all the stats he needs and would go only as far as he took them.

Dwayne Bacon: gone. Xavier Rathan-Mayes: gone. Jonathan Isaac: gone. It is all there for him.

The downside is the risk of not enough team success. Even Kevin Durant could not turn Texas into something more than an early round NCAA Tournament in the one season that he was there and allowed to be everything for the Longhorns.

Again, I think Florida State is first because they are least considered and essentially the Knoxs are doing them a favor by still talking to them.
