Duke Associate head coach Jeff Capel led the Blue Devils to an outstanding comeback win on Saturday against the Wake Demon Deacons.

Capel relied on Duke’s best player this season, Luke Kennard. Kennard was money like Floyd Mayweather on Saturday afternoon for the Blue Devils. He hit all six of his three-point field goals. Kennard made 11 of his 14 field goals from the field and made six of his 10 free throws. His last three-pointer sealed the victory for the Duke Blue Devils. Kennard finished the game with 34 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Duke has won two of their last five games. Associate head coach Capel used another different starting lineup against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons that included more veteran players. Grayson Allen, Amile Jefferson, Matt Jones, Kennard and Jayson Tatum.

The Blue Devils were trailing the Demon Deacons 81-71 with 3:47 left in the game. Duke went on a 12-2 run to close out the game. Kennard scored 11 of his 34 points during this run, including three three-pointers. Kennard hit a three-point field goal with 6.6 seconds left in the game to seal the victory.
