N.C. State Wolfpack: Suns’ T.J. Warren back from injury

Former Wolfpack star T.J. Warren returns to the Suns after his injury.

The Phoenix Suns welcomed back one of their best rising stars over a week ago. Former N.C. State Wolfpack and 2014 ACC Player of the Year T.J. Warren came back from an undisclosed head injury that he suffered in mid-November.

Prior to the injury, T.J. Warren was one of the leading scorers for the Phoenix Suns. He was their starting small forward.

Warren played his first game on December 17, 2016, since the injury in November. He logged 14 minutes against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Warren finished the game with two points, two rebounds and one block.

It took Warren a few games to regain his form. He was back to scoring lots of points and putting up big numbers when the Suns faced the Houston Rockets. Although Phoenix lost, Warren scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds, in addition to one block and one steal.

He followed up this performance with 19 points and five rebounds against the Philadelphia 76ers, 11 points and four rebounds against the Rockets and 23 points and six rebounds versus the San Antonio Spurs.

Warren has regained his starting position, thus maintaining his breakout season. He is a huge part of the Sun’s youthful resurgence.

In a few years, Warren also known as Tony Buckets, will become a household name. The question that Phoenix has to answer is, “How will they keep Warren the more his star power grows?” Stay tuned for answers to this question.
