Wake Forest Demon Deacons: The Missing Playbook Pages Mystery
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are trying to figure out plays from their gameplan ended up to Papa John Stadium.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons were up 12-0 on the Louisville Cardinals. That’s right the upstart Deacs were up 12-0 on the number three team in the nation according to some polls. Then it all went south. The Deacs were handed a 44-12 buzz saw and left wondering what happened.
Perhaps there were funny things going on. After the game a member of the Wake Forest traveling party found pieces of the Wake Forest playbook inside the Louisville stadium. As a result the Deacs are investigating how the pieces could have left the responsible hands according to reports from Andrea Adelson of ESPN.
The key pages in question are plays that Wake Forest have never used before in a game. Therefore it is safe to assume that these plays were designed specifically for Louisville. Which makes their presence anywhere outside of the Deacs coaching staff weird.

However it is important to note that no one has specifically accused Louisville of stealing these documents or that they were involved at all. The Deacs are treating the matter seriously. They have informed the ACC office of their concerns.
Coach Bobby Petrino denied involvement. He insists on running the program with an eye toward sportsmanship (really? Not running up the score? Ever?). It is doubtful that this event will be more than a distraction for Louisville as they face Houston tomorrow. Louisville is still in conversation for the College Football Playoff.

Lucky for the Deacons this loss did not change their season much. They were not in line for Orlando either way. They already had bowl eligibility. They face Clemson next.
This is just going to be one of those oddities. There is not much chance that more information drops or someone confesses. The Deacons can still add to their surprising season.
