Former Duke Blue Devils player Brandon Ingram will be one of fourteen players in the Green Room at Thursday’s NBA Draft.

The Duke Blue Devils may be in for another good night a couple of days from today. First their former one-and-done alum Kyrie Irving wins the NBA Championship. Next their current one-and-done player Brandon Ingram will be a top three pick. This was made somewhat official by the NBA, who released their draft green room invitee list.

It is a short list of fourteen players. The NBA is fairly certain this group of guys will be taken in the first round. They have been wrong before.

Ingram stands as the only Duke player, only Tobacco Road player, and only ACC player that will be in the green room. Several of the other players are from Kentucky.

The Green Room list is:

Wade Baldwin, Vanderbilt

Dragan Bender, Maccabi Tel Aviv

Jaylen Brown, Cal

Marquese Chriss, Washington

Deyonta Davis, Michigan State

Kris Dunn, Providence

Henry Ellenson, Marquette

Buddy Hield, Oklahoma

Brandon Ingram, Duke

Skal Labissiere, Kentucky

Jamal Murray, Kentucky

Jakob Poeltl, Utah

Domantas Sabonis, Gonzaga

Ben Simmons, LSU

Even a list this large is pretty brave considering that the draft pool is fairly balanced after you get past the first four or five guys. Baldwin is the biggest question mark as I have seen mocks with him in the lottery and I have also seen mocks with him not in the first round at all.

That should not be a problem for Ingram as he should be gone by the second pick. I don’t know what kind of mancrush it would take for Kris Dunn to climb into that spot.

This list should not affect the Hornets in any way since they are sitting down at twenty-two. It is possible for a green room invitee to fall down that far, but it means whoever writes these invites is not doing their job if that happens.
