Duke Blue Devils: Getting Chances Post-Draft
The Duke Blue Devils had a number of players signed to undrafted free agent deals.
The NFL Draft weekend was quiet for the Duke Blue Devils. Not a single Duke football player came off the Draft board. Not Matt Skura, not Max McCaffrey, and not Jeremy Cash. It was a bit disappointing to say the least.
Then came the onslaught of undrafted free agent signings and now those same Duke players that were overlooked in the seven round draft will be getting a chance to make a pro roster. Here is what that looks like as of Monday morning.

For the most part this list includes all the names that you would expect. The guys with the best chance to make a big impact have to be Monday and Martin since their positions are less likely to be drafted for. The New York Jets have a history of running afoul of their current starting kicker, and Martin could be in a good spot as the next man up.
Reeves will be in a good spot as a blocking tight end for the Steelers. Though the Steelers have gotten away from running the ball over the past few years, there is always an interest in getting back to it particularly with LeVeon Bell on the roster.

McCaffrey could also be in a good spot. If his tendencies prove to be like his father’s, he could offer a kind of security blanket for Derek Carr as teams look to shut the rising quarterback down.
Skura is also in a good fit as the Ravens need to keep Joe Flacco upright and get their run game on track.
Naturally my favorite move of any of these is the addition of Cash by the Panthers. I have a funny feeling that the Ohio State transfer will some kind of impact on the Panthers sooner rather than later.
