4. USC beats Stanford

The Pac 12 title game holds the least amount of bearing on the Tar Heels’ playoff hopes. Stanford is not currently a top four team, and likely the Tar Heels could jump them if it came to it. Yet let’s not play around with maybes here. The one way to get Stanford out of the way is by having the Trojans beat them.

USC is a different team now late in the season, and quietly has moved back to #20 in the rankings. Perhaps they will be looking to justify the hire of Clay Helton as head coach. Or perhaps they just want to grab the Pac 12 Championship after all the probation years.
