3. Iowa beats Michigan State

I went back on forth on this one for a while before deciding the Big Ten Championship Game. The logic works like this. The team that needs to lose on Saturday is Ohio State. If Michigan State wins then Ohio State can claim to better candidate than Iowa, since they would share the same loss.

If Iowa wins, Ohio State would have to argue for inclusion over the team that beat it (Michigan State). That scenario would be awkward enough that the committee might take North Carolina as a simple fix.

Don’t believe me? When given the TCU-Baylor conundrum last year, the committee took —Ohio State as a one loss conference champ over the co-champs.
