2. Filling in the Holes

One of the neat things about the last stretch of games is that the Panthers continue to develop what they can do on offense. Jonathan Stewart had been quiet through four games. All of the sudden he becomes key to victories against the Seahawks and Eagles.

The Panthers have been looking for receiving threats outside of Olsen. In this stretch of games, the speed of Ted Ginn and Corey Brown is starting to play a factor. Yes, Ginn blew the big catch against the Colts, but that is been more the anomaly. In the Packers game, rookie Devin Funchess emerged for a couple big catches and a touchdown. The Panthers seemed satisfied with their receiving corps and made no moves at the trade deadline.

Defensively the holes are less obvious. Mostly it has come down to filling in for Johnson. Mario Addison, also hurt for a few games, and Kony Ealy were active against the Packers as was Jared Allen.
