1. Doing What You Do

My first quarter report was largely about what the Panthers could not do or had not proven that they could do. The last four game stretch saw the Panthers take a step in competition. They faced the Seahawks, Eagles, Colts, and Packers in that group of games. How did they win?

Cam Newton threw the ball to Greg Olsen. Teams can’t seem to keep track of Olsen despite him being the most productive target that Newton has.

Newton’s game also did not change during that stretch. He kept throwing when he had to and running when he had to.

On the flip side, the Panthers defense continued to give good efforts. There is some concern based on the comebacks brought on by the Colts and Packers but the defense did finally get turnovers to end those scenarios without blemishing the record.
