Rodgers had season lows in passing yards. That could be because he was facing a team with Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware. Ware recorded a safety during the game. Ware also dictated the strategy of the defense, keep Rodgers in the pocket and prevent him from finding open men in broken plays.

This is treating Rodgers like he was Ben Roethlisberger and it makes sense.

Can the Panthers do it? They do have long time Rodgers nemesis Jared Allen on the roster, but the Panthers defensive line was pretty beat up against the Colts. If the line can get some health back, then guys like Kony Ealy could help with this strategy. Don’t be surprised to see linebacker blitzes sprinkled into the defensive gameplan as well.

The Panthers do have the secondary to help limit Rodgers’ options since the nickel back is Charles Tillman, who is still pretty good. They should be able to match up with the Packers’ spread looks.
