Amway Coaches Poll Week 6: Duke Hovering
The Week 6 Amway Coaches Poll is out this week. The teams of North Carolina were once again shut out of the poll itself, but there was some activity in the Others Receiving Votes section. The Duke Blue Devils are drifting near to the point where they could into the poll itself with a little help. Duke really can’t gain too much with wins over Army and Virginia Tech in the coming weeks so they will be looking for teams in the twenties to lose.

The NC State Wolfpack left the poll with their loss to Louisville. The North Carolina Tar Heels collected a couple of votes for the first time since the beginning of the season. There are no Coastal Division teams in the Amway Coaches Poll proper.
The bottom two spots in the Coaches Poll were taken by teams outside the Power 5. Boise State reentered the poll from the Mountain West. The Memphis Tigers also made their debut in the poll, a better sign for the American Athletic Conference. Temple, Toledo, Navy and Houston also received votes. While not optimal, it is good to see these teams gaining some support. They deserve more.
