X – Charlotte Goes For Two
The 49ers won their first game as an FBS team. They have every opportunity to go 2-0 against the FCS Blue Hose. That would give them some momentum, confidence, and show that they can win the games that they are supposed to win. The formula that beat Georgia State, defense, should be enough to work here with one exception.

Y – Presbyterian Looking for Payback
While the Blue Hose have no history with the 49ers, they have already been beaten by an FBS squad this year in Miami (Ohio). Coach Harold Nichols and his gang lost 7-26 in that one. Charlotte offers a tempting target. They are a FBS team, but they are not a full strength FBS team yet. FCS teams love to upset any FBS squad they can play. This should give the Blue Hose plenty to play for.

Z – No Turnovers
If Charlotte wants to win this game they must keep the football. They caused turnovers against Georgia State, but they gave ball to the Panthers at great frequency. That kept the Panthers in the game when they could have been put away. Quarterback Matt Johnson needs to be efficient and smart with ball and not force things.

Prediction – 28-17 Charlotte
Despite the atmosphere smelling of upset, the 49ers should be motivated enough to keep up the winning for another week. Big dose of Khalif Phillips in this one.
