Report: Charlotte Hornets to Acquire Jeremy Lamb?
According to reports from Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Hornets are involved in a trade that will bring in Oklahoma City guard Jeremy Lamb for forward Matt Barnes. According to Bonnell, Barnes is not necessarily on his way to Oklahoma City. This means there is potentially a third team involved in this deal.

Okay, the world looks incredibly different for the Hornets since yesterday. We have seen the Hornets grab Nicolas Batum at the cost of Noah Vonleh and Gerald Henderson. Now we have seen the Hornets grab former Kemba Walker teammate Jeremy Lamb and his 35% three point shooting average for the contract of Matt Barnes. That means the Hornets has addressed their issues on the wing and created a bit of a gap in their front court depth.
Lamb’s acquisition should open the way for the Hornets to look at bigs or anything else in the draft if they choose. If the Hornets are looking at Frank Kaminsky, they might even be able to trade down. In fact trading down became a lot more doable. If the Hornets miss on Kaminsky, they could still wind up with Myles Turner. Turner proved to have a better shot than previously thought in work outs.
It is amazing how quickly things can change for a basketball team. The Hornets have really mixed it up here and picked up two veterans. This means that the team is still looking for ways to win now.

The Hornets’ draft tonight will be unpredictable. They have opened up themselves for several possible moves. Teams looking at players in the mid-lottery will have to make trade offers to the Hornets, because Charlotte could take anybody and other teams may not be willing to risk that.
Just to remind folks that the Boston Celtics own two picks and would like to move into the top ten. Right now the Hornets would be a likely trading partner for that deal.
UPDATE – 10:53 AM – Hornets have traded Barnes to Memphis for Luke Ridnour according to Yahoo Sports. No Jeremy Lamb deal exists if that is true.
