NC State head basketball coach Mark Gottfried may have found his answer to Trevor Lacey and he comes from an unlikely pedigree that once wore light blue. Unfortunately, it will not be this season.

Torin Dorn, Conference USA’s freshman of the year announced today that he will transfer to North Carolina State University after a UNC-Charlotte coaching change. The 6’5″ Charlotte native is the son of former Tarheel football standout Torin Dorn, Sr. who averaged 12.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in 27 minutes per game for the 49ers.

Dorn, a guard, will have to sit out the 2015-16 season, but will eventually join a team with plenty talent, playing opportunities and few seniors to boot.
