Well where do we start with Devin Booker? He is a great shooter, he shoots great from everywhere, he can shoot standing still, he can shoot on the move, and did I mention the kid can shoot? I actually like this pick for the Charlotte Hornets as long as either Lance Stephenson or Gerald Henderson are gone via trade or free agency.

I see Booker as a starter on this Hornets team because he could give Kemba a weapon to pass to on the 3 point line and he would give space for Al Jefferson to work down low. I like this pick as much as I like the Frank Kaminsky pick because it addresses the Hornets roster needs by adding better shooters.
Booker is a silky shooter with a smooth looking jump shot and I know I will sound crazy, but he reminds me of Ray Allen. Booker can shoot quickly and he can shoot it from way down town. He was known as a shooter in college and he will be known as one in the NBA, but he needs to improve his defense to become a great player.
The fact that he is a good size for a shooting guard at 6’6″, and the fact that he shoots so quickly gives him a huge advantage in the NBA of today. He is never going to be a great athlete and you will rarely see him dunk but right now the Hornets do not need flashy they need shooters.

Valley of the Suns
There is not much else to say about Booker because he is what he is, but being this young (he is 18 and will be 19 in October) he has the ability to mold into an even better player. Booker has some good potential and is exactly the shooter that the Hornets are missing.
The thing is can we trust the Hornets and their front office after a few bad drafts lately. Only time will tell but I hope they are paying attention to my advice and the advice of the so called “experts” because this time we are right about what they need.
