Kevin Johnson drafted at 16 pick by Houston Texans
At Pick 16, the Houston Texans select Kevin Johnson, Wake Forest University. Johnson became the first of the Big Four schools to be picked. Ironically he was from the lowest ranked of all those squads. No matter. The team captain was deserving and now he is drafted as a first rounder.

The Houston Texans were clearly looking at a division that is being dominated by the Indianapolis Colts. With Andrew Luck and the Colts gearing up for even more offense next year, the Texans needed players who could match up with the likes of Andre Johnson, TY Hilton, and Koby Fleener. The Colts are enemy number one of Kevin Johnson now.
No mention that the Titans have added Marcus Mariota to their passing game. Blake Bortles is supposed to get better this year. Johnson will see them all over the next few years. They will give him some motivation to keep up his conditioning.
Johnson was a team leader at Wake Forest for two different head coaches. That headiness will be sought by Texans in the coming years.

Johnson is from the Baltimore area, so his selection has got to be good news for someone up in Baltimore. Perhaps Baltimore Ravens fans hoped that he would fall a little further.
Johnson has the best feet of any defensive back in the draft this year.
This is the thing that probably attracted the Texans to him. He will benefit from a Texans pass rush that will be better next year with JJ Watt and hopefully a healthier Jadaveon Clowney.
Wake Forest has had first rounders before. Hopefully, Johnson has a better track record than did Aaron Curry.
