Jahlil Okafor Named ACC Player of the Year
Jahlil Okafor took home the ACC Player of the Year Award for Mens Basketball. Okafor became the seventh Duke player in the last fifteen years to take the honor. The 6’11” 270 lbs forward has carved out his place through adding lost post scoring. He became the first real low post scoring threat that Duke has had. Even Jabari Parker became more perimeter oriented at times.

Okafor will be big for Duke runs in either the ACC or NCAA Tournament, but it is hard to see what he will be against teams that can produce similar or even more size against the Blue Devils. Okafor had two more quiet games against the Tar Heels, and it would be easy to see him running into similar trouble against Kentucky. That means that Duke may be relying on big games from the Tyus Jones – Quinn Cook backcourt.
