Charlotte Hornets: Hole Too Big vs Cavs
The Charlotte Hornets dug a hole last night against the Cleveland Cavaliers and they never dug their way out of it. At least they did it with style, since it is the first time in ten years that a team went down by so much by at the very beginning of a game.
The Hornets did not give up though, and in the greatest tradition of silver lining folks everywhere, they won the rest of the game. They managed to draw the score to within two in the third before running out of steam on that particular stretch. The Cavs finished the game much like they started it.

The game marked the return of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to the starting lineup, but he was not quite effective. PJ Hairston, on the other hand, was once again on the bench. Cody Zeller got hurt in the game, suffering a nasal contusion when Anderson Varejao landed on him. I guess I would have suffered worse than a nasal contusion if Varejao had landed on me.
Got to love that +/- stat. That hockey holdover slows all the starters in the red and all the bench guys in the green. Means the bench should play more, right? Maybe not.
The Hornets are now 1-10 on the road this season, which is the worst mark in the league. The Hornets do get Jeff Taylor back next game. The Hornets play Phoenix tomorrow night.
