So It Begins: Hornets vs Bucks, 108-106
Well, that’s one way to start the season. The Charlotte Hornets won 108-106 over the Milwaukee Bucks in an overtime game. There were key contributions from various Hornets, but the biggest point scorer of the night for Charlotte was Kemba Walker with 26 points including the game winning shot in overtime. Forward Marvin Williams was second on the team with 19 points. Lance Stephenson only had seven points, but they included a big dunk and 13 rebounds and eight assists which led the team. It was that kind of game in Hornets vs Bucks.

Coach Jason Kidd started a big lineup which included forward Jared Dudley. Guard Brandon Knight led scoring for the Bucks with 22, while rookie Jabari Parker had eight points in his NBA debut. Knight also had 13 assists, so he played a whale of a game.
The Hornets were down twenty-four points in the third quarter when the offense finally came alive. The crowd had even turned on the team by that point. The sell out crowd had not come to see poor play. Kemba was part of that big offensive charge that was capped when he hit a game tying three late in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Stephenson demonstrated an all-around game that will be important this season. He may not have shot well, but he found ways to contribute to the team’s comeback. Remember, Jordan liked his competitiveness, and he certainly showed it last night.
For local connections, Gerald Henderson of Duke did get into the action but was limited to nine minutes. PJ Hairston did not get in the game. John Henson of the Bucks played for 12 minutes while his former Tar Heel teammate Kendall Marshall did not play.
