Week 10 Amway Coaches Poll: ECU #19 Duke #24
Week 9 saw a couple of upsets, but mostly the slate of the Amway Coaches Poll stayed the same. LSU got to jump up to 17 for their victory over Ole Miss. Ole Miss fell down only to number nine. This may seem like an unimportant occurrence, but it did allow LSU to vault over the East Carolina Pirates in the polls. That brought East Carolina down to 19 as the Utah Utes also jumped over them. This brings the Pirates ever closer to the undefeated Marshall Thundering Herd, now sitting at 23rd in the polls.

Marshall has hired a public relations firm to lobby their way into the playoff. That is incredibly unlikely, but it is possible that they could be rewarded with the top non Power Five berth into the Alliance Bowl games. Their biggest competition is the Pirates, who they beat last year. The Pirates also have not done anything noteworthy lately, while Marshall is undefeated.
The Duke Blue Devils found their way into the poll this week, and they become the sole ACC Coastal member in the poll and therefore the current favorite to win the division. No other schools received votes in the poll from the state schools. Minnesota ended its one week run of being ranked in the poll.
