Charlotte Hornets lose preseason finale to Indiana, 88-79
The Charlotte Hornets finished their last game of the preseason last night against the Indiana Pacers. It was a fairly normal final preseason game. A bunch of people sat including point guard Kemba Walker, guard Gerald Henderson, guard Lance Stephenson, and forward Noah Vonleh. This meant that backup point guard Brian Roberts played the entire game more or less.

Last night saw the only action for Justin Cobbs, who had two points and a rebound last night.
Roberts led the scoring for the Hornets with 19, while gunner Gary Neal had his first off night of the preseason in only scoring six points despite playing nearly thirty minutes. Neal was 1-11 on the night shooting. He did have six assists.
Al Jefferson scored 15. Forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 13 and guard PJ Hairston scored 11 to round out the Hornets who reached double figures.
It was not enough to beat Indiana though. Though the Pacers benched point guard George Hill, forward David West, and guard Rodney Stuckey, they got a big game from guard CJ Miles. Miles scored 23 points and hit three of four from beyond the arc.

The Pacers also had forward Luis Scola, center Roy Hibbert, guard Donald Sloan, and forward Chris Copeland all got to double figures. Scola also contributed 12 rebounds to the cause. Neither shot well, but the Pacers shot 45% compared to the Hornets’ 37%. Charlotte shot a mere 22% from the three point arc.
The Hornets finish their preseason campaign with a 3-5 mark. We saw that Coach Steve Clifford tried to build chemistry where he could between the players that were healthy. We still do not know how Henderson and Vonleh are going to fit in yet, but we do know that Gary Neal is not going to be quiet during his contract year.
