Neal got the start and nobody tell Gary Neal that this is only the preseason. Neal once again led the Hornets scoring, this time with 19 points in almost 27 minutes of action. He was 6 of 9 from the field and 3 of 5 from the three point arc. Neal clearly has something to prove. It may not just be his uphill quest for minutes, but Neal is in the last year of his current contract. He could be playing for the next one.
Kemba Walker had 13 and Al Jefferson had 12. PJ Hairston had 11 in extended time off the bench. Point guard Jannero Pargo also played almost twenty minutes and scored 15 points. Jason Maxiell was once again the last man off the bench. Lauderdale, Qvale, and Cobbs saw no action for the second straight game. I think Coach Steve Clifford is trying to build chemistry between the core and the new guys through these games.

For the Wizards, Nene and Kris Humphries did not play, so your Kardashian signs got no use during the game. Dejuan Blair started and grabbed ten boards. The Wizards did start the John Wall, Bradley Beal, Paul Pierce trio. None of them played for very long, and Beal was out after 10 minutes of action.
The leading scorers for the Wizards came off of the bench in the form of Xavier Silas and last year’s high draft pick Otto Porter. Silas had 16 and Porter had 14.
The Hornets next face off with the Orlando Magic Monday night at home here in the Queen City. It will be the first home game for the newly renamed Charlotte Hornets.
