Week 5 Amway Coaches Poll: Duke #23 ECU #24
The Week 5 Amway Coaches Poll has two major changes worth noting. The East Carolina Pirates are in the poll at number 24, since they defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 70-41 on Saturday evening. The team sitting in front of them however is the Duke Blue Devils at number 23. The Amway Coaches Poll is more appreciative of coaching goodness than the AP, so the Poll is rewarding David Cutcliffe for a fantastic start to his season at 4-0.

Other things in this Poll include Alabama and Oklahoma continuing to keep Oregon out of the two and three spots. The first place votes are clustered between four teams, where the AP poll had five teams with first place votes.
Mississippi State only rose to 16, but again LSU remained out of the twenties in the Poll. Big Ten voters must be keeping Ohio State and Nebraska afloat.
East Carolina becomes the only Group of 5 team in the poll with Marshall being the next highest vote getter.
4-0 NC State is still receiving votes. If State can win a few conference games (or beat Florida State this weekend) there is chance for them to ascend higher in this poll.
