Appalachian State Football Camp Update 8/5
Appalachian State Football Training Camp has been going since august 1, and their Information Desk has been keeping track of it as it has unrolled. Let’s see what things have transpired thus far:
Coach Scott Satterfield talks to the Press on Day 1
Coach Satterfield talked to the media after the first day of practice. He talked about the opportunity available to all players. Satterfield talked about increasing tempo in the Appalachian State offense. He felt that tempo had slowed down over the years. The years that Satterfield described as faster tempo were the National Championship years for the Mountaineers.
Satterfield also mentioned that the difficulties of the previous season have motivated many of the players to have a big off season to contribute over the summer to get ready for the next season.

The Mountaineers split day into two workouts without pads. There was no attempt to create any sort of depth chart so that all of the players could have some chance during that first day. Quarterback Kameron Bryant was accurate during 7-on-7s and 11-on-11s.
Better weather was a nice change has no tackle drills continued. This was the first day of camp to wear shoulder pads.
Tommy Bowman talks Kameron Bryant:
Tommy Bowman of the Winston-Salem Journal has a nice piece on Kameron Bryant, Appalachian State junior quarterback. Bryant was thrown into the starting lineup last year midseason. Bryant talked of being comfortable with the starting role and looking to build on. His half season of work was efficient with 14 TDs to just 4 INTs. Bryant has worked to become stronger in the off-season, and likely still has room to improve as he gains more experience.
