Hornets Sign Jannero Pargo
With all the excitement surrounding the Hornets off-season, it is hard to remember that the Hornets have 12 active roster spots and 3 inactive spots to fill and not all those spots are going to be filled by intrigue like Lance Stephenson.

Priority Sports, the agency that represents free agent point guard Jannero Pargo, announced that their client had agreed to return to the Charlotte Hornets on a 1 year, $1.5 million deal. This locks down another point guard, and this gives the Hornets good depth at the position. Pargo played for the then Bobcats last year and has averaged 6 pts/game for his career.
The Hornets also have an interesting situation popping up with Gary Neal. The signing of Pargo would make it unlikely that Neal would see minutes at that spot. The point guard minutes would be seemingly gobbled up by Kemba Walker, Brian Roberts, and now Jannero Pargo.

However, Neal’s other position of shooting guard is also starting to get a little crowded. The additions of Lance Stephenson and PJ Hairston have to have reduced the possible minutes that Neal could see. There are minutes to be had at small forward behind Michael Kidd-Gilchrist if Jeff Taylor is not quite ready, but Neal is likely to be the odd man out as he is too small to be the three man.
It is important to note therefore that Neal is on a one year deal and could easily be included in some kind of trade either now or at the trade deadline if injuries force the Hornets to make a move. It is strange to say, but the Hornets suddenly have luxuries like trying to figure out what to do with Neal.
Balancing the new rotation will be the next big job as the Hornets will have one or two new starters in the first five, and the bench will be full of guys with expectations for the future. It will be interesting to see what guys fill these last few spaces with Jannero Pargo.
