Wake Forest Releases Non Conference Basketball Schedule

College football isn’t even here yet, except for those of you who won’t let it die, and already ACC teams are dropping their Non-Conference Basketball schedules. Should we know something about the upcoming football season guys? Or with UNC/Duke fighting in the Coastal, and FSU/Louisville now in the Atlantic, did they just assume basketball season had started early.

More from Wake Forest Demon Deacons

All kidding aside this is who the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will be playing in their Non-Conference basketball schedule this year.

Nov (Yes, November) 7 … Young Harris (Exhibition)

With only one exhibition announced, it is likely Wake is playing a closed scrimmage against another D-1 team.

Nov 19 … AT Arkansas

Arkansas, like Wake, is a team with something to prove this season. Coach Mike Anderson was brought in with the belief that he could make the Razorbacks win as he did with the UAB Blazers and Missouri Tigers. This will be a key early test for Wake.

Dec 2 … Minnesota

Minnesota is the Big 10/ACC challenge draw for Wake. Defending NIT champion Minnesota is considered to be up and coming under second year coach Richard Pitino, whose father now coaches in the ACC. This will be another test to see how Wake is progressing.

Dec 20 … AT Florida

Technically this the 21st annual Orange Bowl Basketball Classic played in Sunrise, FL, but this will be a road test. Florida lost some of the pieces to last year’s tournament team, but they should represent the toughest non-conference team that Wake will face all season.
