The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will look to snap their two-game losing streak on Tuesday night against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Demon Deacons can ill-afford to have any more losses as they are on the bubble to make the NCAA tournament.

Wake Forest will try to sweep the two-game season set from Georgia Tech, whom they defeated 80-51 in Atlanta, Georgia last month.

Heading into Tuesday night’s matchup, the Demon Deacons have lost three out of their last five games, which were all on the road. Wake Forest is coming off a disappointing 11-point loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies last Saturday.

Redshirt sophomore guard Kevin Miller led the Deacs with 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field while adding six assists and five rebounds. Overall, Wake Forest had five players score in double figures, but it wasn’t enough, as they outscored by 20 points in the second half.

Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech Betting Pick and Prediction

Tuesday night’s game against Georgia Tech represents a good get-right spot for the Demon Deacons.

Wake Forest is a perfect 15-0 at home this season and recently defeated the Duke Blue Devils by four points in Winston-Salem on Feb. 24. In their last five games at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the Demon Deacons are defeating opponents by 19 points per game. Wake is also scoring 89.2 points per game over that span at home.

The Yellow Jackets’ defense has not been great this season, as they are allowing 75.2 points per game (13th-most in the ACC) this season. However, Georgia Tech does a tremendous job defending the three-point range (31.7%, fourth-fewest in the ACC).

The Yellow Jackets’ three-point defense has loomed large in their last two wins over Miami and Florida State. Damon Stoudamire’s crew held the Seminoles to 33.3% from beyond the arc and outrebounded FSU by 22 last Sunday.

Meanwhile, in their four-point win over the Canes, Georgia Tech held Miami to 36.1% shooting from deep, which isn’t great. However, the Yellow Jackets shot 44.1% from three and won the battle on the glass (41-34).

Therefore, if you are Stoudamire, the keys to winning are keeping the Deacs off the glass and not allowing open looks from beyond the arc. However, that is easier said than done as Wake has an explosive offense (78.9 points per game – 3rd best in the ACC) and is ranked second in the ACC (37.7%).

Wake Forest is 10-3-1 against the spread at home this season, which is tough to bet against. However, Georgia Tech has held its own, going 8-5 ATS as a road underdog. But at the same time, the Deacons know they can’t have any more slip-ups, and I don’t expect them to do that in front of their home crowd.
