The North Carolina Tar Heels wrapped up the regular season with an ACC title game loss to the NC State Wolfpack. Despite the championship game loss, the Tar Heels are still one of the four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament.

Senior guard RJ Davis has played a significant role in UNC’s success on the court this season and was rewarded for his efforts by the media. Davis was among the five players named to the Associated Press All-American First-Team Tuesday.

The 6-foot guard from White Plains, NY, is having an outstanding season for the Tar Heels and will be one of the stars to watch out for in the big dance. Davis is scoring 21.4 points per game (career-high) on 43.1 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from beyond the arc. The senior guard is also averaging 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

Davis established himself as the best player in the conference this season, which is hard to do when you play in a conference such as the ACC.

Along with making the All-American first team, the standout guard was named ACC Player of the Year this season and made the All-ACC first team. The Tar Heels will look for Davis to continue to play well as they hope to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament and win a national championship.
